Wandering around London like a neko (cat)

After having a satisfying brunch at Foxcroft & Ginger, we went to St.Paul's Cathedral since we haven't really been to all tourist attractions in London.

Directly opposite to St. Paul's Cathedral, we found this newly opened shopping mall, 'One New Change' where they have a rooftop terrace that is open to public, free of charge.

Took the lift up to the rooftop and got to see panoramic views of the London skyline... It's gorgeous.

Throwback Macau trip Summer 2012

This is really way overdue. But I thought I should still post these up before the upcoming Europe trip's photos start flooding in my iPhoto.

So as you know I went to Hong Kong last August for summer vacation with two of my aunts. While trying to cover as many attractions as possible in such a short period, we still managed to allocate one whole day for Macau. Not that I was interested in gambling at the casinos but because I really wanted to try the famous Portuguese egg tart there.

Guildford Cathedral

Today I am going to show you some pictures of Guildford Cathedral which stands on the Stag hill, overlooking our university campus.

This iconic building of Guildford, Surrey can be seen even from far. Whenever you take the Southwest train from London Waterloo, you will know that you are in Guildford already when you see this cathedral from the railway.

Simple yet unique from the outside, the Guildford Cathedral indeed has its own kind of charm. This Anglican cathedral with its undramatic Curvilinear Gothic architecture will be the venue for University of Surrey's annual convocation.

Sightseeing: Hotel Penaga

I was having lunch with daddy in Georgetown yesterday when we happened to pass by this row of eye-catching reconstructed heritage building.

Converted from pre-war shop houses, this boutique hotel has infused its every space with modern amenities while preserving the heritage side of the building. It's a perfect blend of the old and new I would say.

Piqued by curiosity we went in to look around.

A mini swimming pool beside the hotel's restaurant.

Pretty cool but I thought it's for kids only. I wouldn't want to swim in that small space (as if I'm very big sized) but that's not the point. My main concern is that..People eating in the restaurant can see you quite clearly. Isn't this awkward :P

I adore those coloured glass panels...

and the patterned tiles..

hmm they have got a lift. not bad..

You can definitely detect the nostalgic ambiance of Old Penang here.
The vintage houses where my paternal grandparents used to stay when they were still young.

Didn't get to see their rooms but apparently they must be really beautiful inside.
RM450 per night. hmm....

A cool mural by local artist behind the hotel.

I wouldn't mind to pay and stay over if I'm not a Penangite ;P
too bad I am. oh well.

It's Japan: Asakusa

Yes, finally another Japan trip post. I will be posting a lot more and it's just the matter of time.

Let's see, after Disneyland what should I post? oh btw I'm not doing all these in chronological order. Not gonna put Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 etc. Simply because there are too many things to show in just one day.

So today it's about my visit to the famous Sensoji Temple (浅草寺) in Asakusa, a district in Taito, Tokyo. It's so popular that no one would miss this during their trip to Tokyo.

shall not write much. I guess photos are already self-explanatory.

Silver Ginko tree (银杏树) all over Tokyo during Autumn.

Cleansing at the Dragon head's fountain before praying. Follow the Japanese style!
but the water is so icy cold that my hands had gone numb for a while after that. Probably due to the cold weather.

After praying we went down the streets for shopping.

No bicycle from here. LOL at the 下马 if you understand mandarin :)

Their mamak stalls with awesome street snacks. No time to sit down though :(

haha! so funneh

They sell these fancy mochi or cakes or whatever it is at almost everywhere. Obviously targeting on tourist because these are just perfect souvenirs. No doubt they look really attractive and kawaii but taste wise, it's a bit disappointing. Japanese desserts are really just all about red bean paste. Not a big fan so, yea.

Mochis made on the spot. Looks really tasty but hmmm, I don't know why my taste buds just don't like the flavour and the texture.

______* end ♥

mmhmm I think Asakusa is really awesome as it has got the old Japan kind of feel. It's just like a mini Kyoto inside Tokyo city. haha. Not just because of the beautiful Zen architecture but also the vibrant colours all over the long streets of stalls and shops. Simply an amazing place.
