The Tea Terrace, Guildford

We had been planning long ago to go for an afternoon high tea session. The last time we went shopping at House of Fraser, Guildford, Ika and me discovered this cute English tea house situated on the building's rooftop.

What intrigued us most was obviously, its beautiful, cosy interior tinged with a little rather posh ambiance. They have got a lot of colourful well-cushioned chairs, pastel colours painted wall with framed paintings and quotes on it. There are even some comfy sofas provided, which is perfect after a long day of shopping. (House of Fraser just downstairs)

Lately

It's been a while since we all gathered to sing Karaoke. During those high school years, it used to be our one favourite thing to do together as a group.

Not all of us were present that day. Soon Yee went back to Singapore already while Wen Hui's still enjoying winter in Australia.

Could vividly remember that we used to go Red Box very often for all the birthday parties, farewells, primary school reunions and all those *coughs* get-to-know-the-chungling-boys hang outs. \(≧▽≦)/
LOL at our 那些年

And then there was this hilarious moment..when we realised that almost all of the songs we chose were those used-to-be-so-popular hits years ago when we were merely some lala high school girls. Guess what, the first thing that popped out on my mind was all the K-pops, particularly Big Bang's.. Which they don't have much choices there! Not even my favourite BLUE

(as if i know how to pronounce every word accurately haha)

We're extremely outdated! Haven't been updating ourselves with the latest Chinese pop songs.

At the blink of eye, we're now 20 years old (I know right..can't believe I'm that grown up. I mean, take a look at my T-shirt haha) Yet our friendship bond is still so strong I don't even know how to describe.

As sticky as superglue? (´∀`)♡

My personal updates:

Ever since I came back from KL, I haven't been doing much. You can't say that I'd wasted my time but it definitely had been boring, on the whole.
You have heard of the song 'When will my life begin' in Tangled, haven't you? Go watch it on youtube and you will get a clear picture of how I spent my week.  The song's literally reflecting my situation!

-I did some paintings and also DIY greeting cards
-Watched cooking shows on AFC, started collecting recipes from my mother & carried out experiments on some serious cooking (so I can be a homy cook when I'm staying alone)
-Read Murakami's novels and some articles from Times, attempted to brush up my English
-Downloaded numerous Running Man episodes, laughed so so much from watching that I think my neighbours might have wondered who's the crazy girl next door
-Watched Studio Ghibli's latest animation 'From Up on Poppy Hill'. Mad love! ♥
-Went out with different group of friends, ate a lot of good food (tummy is more than contented)
-Had a few family gatherings, met many of my paternal relatives, good food again (so well fed)
-Spent some quality time with my granny and tried to explain to her how the UK map look like
-Brushed my hair like Rapunzel did in Tangled (haha not funny)
etc etc etc......  well, boring. ╭(╯ε╰)╮

 (from weheartit.com)

Howeverrrrrrr.... *drumrolls* Just when I was worrying about how to spare my time for the next whole month, suddenly I found out that my schedule is fully packed with exciting events! The power of 'Secret' perhaps. Heh ╰( ̄▽ ̄)╭

2 spontaneous holiday trips: Cruise & makan trip this weekend, Hongkong & Macau trip next week; KL for medical check up, contracts & visa application... but most exciting of all

I'm going to WORK!!

haha! but i bet you'll laugh when you find out what's my part time job. The pay isn't attractive at all to a big spender like me and it's nowhere related to my future career. Oh well, I just wanted to help out. Plus, since it's kind of fun. Once in a life time!

A good start

Started my first paper of the term yesterday and I am glad to say that I had given my best shot.
Although I thought that the paper was pretty easy, it was tedious and the probability of making careless mistakes was relatively high. Nevertheless I swear I was being extra paranoid and careful  when solving each question. Doing like this was time consuming but at least safer.

So presumably nothing went wrong I think I am definitely getting a perfect score this time.whee this is a very good start :D

Steph and Hana were busy discussing their Stats paper after coming back and I had not enough energy to shoo them out of my room. Standing ON my comfy bed! Vandalizing my whiteboard! wth and it's not like I remember the topics in that module also (I took it like..last year?) Couldn't even join in the conversation! But still, my two darlings were just funny and lovable I just sit there and stare at them :) ♥

Woke up this morning when Ms Campbell delivered these sweet things to my room.
Exam Care Package! :') huhu best Housemistress on earth thank you so much it made our day.

And then I remember a few days back daddy sent me a cheesy email with all the motivational elements in it as usual. At first I laughed so hard because he's too cute to write a letter for his daughter. I mean how many people's daddy do that? I laughed because I sensed that he's trying to do something really inspiring and touching and I was like : No, daddy you please don't try to do cheesy stuffs I am so not gonna fall into your trap & cry like mummy haha :D But at last I still shed some tears partly because I was tired after studying and felt homesick at the same time. Gee thanks daddy you successfully made my eyes puffy the next morning.

and then I also recalled all the cute, naggy words of wisdom from ze monkey, asking me when's my first paper, have I been studying, whether I have got any further maths questions to ask or not etc.

There are so many people supporting my back. Seriously what else could I ask for..

为了爱而努力,很真实不是?

Hello Kitty Nerd Specs

Oops just realised that I haven't been updating for more than a week already. (okay not 'just' realised, I knew this all the way) argh how to gain loyal readers like that? :/

Felt so guilty when I listed out the topics I wanted to share with you guys yet still not being posted up.

Let's see.. it's already May now and I didn't even talk about my 20th birthday celebration. -.-
So many events last term I didn't even blog about any of them! Worst thing of all, I found out that I still have zillions of beautiful Japan trip photos last year yet to be shared. fml.

Huhuhu one of my favourite birthday present :)  Kawaii-des!!
Thank you Chir Wey and Hazel ♥

___

Study Leave has already started which means I don't need to go for official lessons anymore. Just a few more extra class and I shall be totally prepared for my A2!

Can't wait anymore.
Done with my application for intercollegiate halls accommodation last week and just found out that staying one night in London would cost me at least 24.7 pounds (for a single room). That's like you can have a deluxe super single room with en suite bathroom in other parts of UK. oh well.

I am so near already.
Just one more step, Grace, one more... *pulls socks up*

Moments behind these dishes

Have been eating quite a lot lately. Especially seafood.. nyamnyam :)

This is not supposed to be a proper blog post. I just couldn't resist myself from uploading all the yummy food photos up here. Imma make you feel hungry. Haha, my own tummy's growling now -.-

I just thought that it's not just about how tasty or how expensive the food you are consuming but who are you spending your meal time with.

That's the reason that makes the dining experience extraordinarily memorable I guess.

Right after I came back from the Sabah trip, my dearest girl friends/ ji muis asked me out for gathering. It's seriously so hard for all of us to get together nowadays since everyone is studying at different places and it's pretty difficult to find a mutual free time among us.

Even for this time when Hui Chuin came back from UK, Soon Yee's still stuck in Singapore coz of her finals. The 5 princesses (coughs) haven't reunited since I don't even know how long ago already.... :(

Salmon teriyaki. All time favourite!

Some bbq pork in claypot. quite nice :D

Shoyu Ramen and some spicy Nori Ramen behind.

I love the way 4 of us shared 2 bowls of noodles.
It's a way of showing how close we all are.. as the Chinese saying goes: 一人一半 感情不散 :)

Went to Gurney Paragon for desserts after that. It was my first visit even though it has opened for some time. I love how Penang develop nowadays. So many new cool hang out spots!

First time trying 'Meet Fresh'.
I think it's heavenly delicious :DD Not-too-sweet desserts are always my preference.

Soya bean curd ice with boiled peanuts, red beans and Pearls as topping.
Pour the fresh cream milk given over it and voila, Perfect!

A lot of laughter and gossips behind these pictures x)

We still had dim sum at our 老地方 as usual the next morning. It's like a must-do every time we meet up. But I didn't snap photos of it :/

Chendol moments with family in the hot afternoon.
This is not the famous one from Penang road but oh well, they all taste equally good to me x)

Not that fussy nowadays. Perhaps I have been staying outside Penang for some time so now, as long as it is Penang food I will be contented.

Was craving for seafood even after I ate a lot during my trip to Sandakan.
So Daddy brought us to 'Ocean Green' for their famous Cheese Crabs! Wheee heaven heaven heaven <3

Oh here's some shots from Sandakan's famous Seafood Restaurant 'Ocean King':

Butter Crabbieee :)

BIG FAT JUICY PRAWNS with yi min noodles. *drools*
It would be even better if we were rich enough to order lobsters heh :)
Next time then.

Enjoyed so much with awesome friends during the trip.
Espeically when their seafood is so fresh and gigantic! haha

Ending today's post with my new addiction: dong fong lo ♥

Still can't believe that I have never tasted these juicy snails before. ohh what have I been doing for my past 20 years.... *facepalm*
freaking miss it! :')

ok hope you are hungry by now :P

Afternoon tea with ze buddy

Last Saturday, after the school's athletics event in the morning I went out with my friends to Pavilion.

A lot of them went to watch Hunger games since it's the premiere that day. And I was a bit tempted to watch Freakonomics since it's exclusively available in Mid Valley, 1 Utama & Pavilion only.

YES Freakonomics is out in Malaysia!! :D
I read the book and knew about its film version but never thought it would be screened in Malaysia. But then after seeing the trailer I doubt it will be worth watching in the cinemas. I mean, seriously? I don't want to pay and go in to watch something like a documentary even though I know it's interesting.

Would rather buy DVD and watch at home.

That afternoon was a relaxing one: I went to meet up with my bank scholar friend/interview mate/ all-time-favourite Facebook chat buddy, Nicholas! lol

He can sometimes be my free online Econs tuition teacher or peer counselor who gives advices and tips about guys' perception. More like my strategy adviser if you get what i mean haha

I think we hardly have problems like awkward silence or out of topic to talk about. There must be something for me to say anyhow. For instance, laughing at his failed diet plan. HAHA

Ordered this Macadamia Cheese Cake. I think he ate 70% of the whole thing -.-
and since I have to save some stomach space for buffet later in the evening.

Iced chocolate with ice cream blended inside.

Thank you for the treat and early birthday present!
Appreciate it very much :)
